FAQ
Direct answers, including the ones that are simply no.
Where we cannot answer without inventing a figure, we say so and name who can answer instead.
How do you calculate requested delivered energy?+
Requested delivered energy equals discharge power in kW multiplied by discharge duration in hours, which gives kWh; dividing by 1,000 gives MWh. If you enter MW, it is converted to kW first. No losses, depth-of-discharge reserve or degradation allowance is applied, because those are product-specific and belong to the supplier's response.
Is that the size of battery I should buy?+
No. It is the energy you are asking to receive. A real system needs more nameplate and usable capacity than the figure suggests, and how much more depends on the product, the duty cycle, the temperature and the warranty year being considered. Each supplier must state that themselves.
Why won't you give me a price estimate?+
Because any estimate we produced would be a guess carried into your capital decision under our name. Prices depend on the product, scope split, site works, interconnection outcome, currency and delivery window. We keep those fields blank and require the supplier to fill them in writing.
Why no payback, IRR or bankability figures?+
Those outputs depend on tariffs, demand-charge structures, incentive eligibility, operating strategy and financing terms that vary by jurisdiction and by month. Publishing a number without your actual tariff and your actual quotations would be fabrication dressed as analysis.
Can you tell me which grants or rebates I qualify for?+
No. Eligibility rulings come from the administering body, and amounts change. We will help you write the question and identify which programme administrator and utility must answer it.
Do you recommend a particular technology or manufacturer?+
No. We hold no exclusive supplier agreement and publish no rankings, scores or endorsements. The brief is technology-neutral so that different electrochemistries can answer the same requirement and be compared on their own written claims.
What happens to the data I type into the configurator?+
Nothing leaves your browser. There is no account, no database, no analytics on your entries and no transmission. Your brief exists only in the page, in what you print, and in the text file you download.
Can I edit the generated brief?+
Yes. Every part of the on-screen brief is directly editable before you print it, and the downloaded text file opens in any word processor so you can add sections, attach drawings or change wording.
Why are the comparison fields blank?+
Because we have no supplier's permission or basis to fill them, and a pre-filled comparison anchors your expectations before anyone has quoted. Blank fields make the gaps in a supplier response visible instead of hidden.
What does the C$750 pilot include?+
A structured intake interview, a completed procurement brief in editable and printable form, the unanswered question checklist, a blank comparison table issued identically to each supplier, and one completeness review of the responses you receive. It excludes engineering design, certification, sizing sign-off, interconnection work, financial modelling and legal review. It is a proposed concept-stage price, not an offer of sale.
Is this engineering advice?+
No. It is requirement structuring. Sizing, protection, code compliance, fire separation, permitting and interconnection must be confirmed by a qualified engineer, your utility and your authority having jurisdiction.
Who is behind flowbatterysolutions.com?+
It is a concept by Exergist Innovations. We are not a manufacturer, installer, EPC contractor or financier, and we receive no commission on supplier sales at concept stage. Enquiries go to info@exergist.com.
